Lake Minnewasta
Lake Minnewasta is a four-season facility that originated with the damming of the Dead Horse Creek. This recreation area offers a full-service campground, swimming, fishing, canoeing, sailing, and hiking in the summer and snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing in the winter months. The lake is approximately 1/2 kilometres wide by 3 kilometres long.
Whether you like to hike, bike, fish, canoe, sit by the campfire or hang out at the beach, Lake Minnewasta offers many activities to choose from.
β Canoe Launch Closure
As winter weather sets in, the canoe launch gates are now locked and closed for the season. This step helps us ensure everyone's safety during the colder months.
The boat launch will remain open as long as the road is drivable.
Thank you for your understanding and support! We look forward to welcoming you back to the water in the spring.
Stay warm and stay safe!
πLake Minnewasta YurtS
Your home away from home, surrounded by nature
Live life without corners in a circular yurt! This traditional dwelling of Central Asian nomads is just right for a night of camping with a dash of homelike comfort.
Welcome to our brand new yurts at Lake Minnewasta in Morden!
Our yurts are the perfect getaway for couples or families of up to 6 people. Each yurt is designed with two bunk beds, a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on top, making it the perfect place to cosy up and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Our yurts are fully furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. You'll find a BBQ with a side burner, toaster, small coffee maker and mini fridge. In case it gets chilly at night, we have also included a pellet stove to keep you warm and toasty.
Please note that cooking is not allowed inside the yurt, but eating is allowed. We have provided a tap on the pole outside for your convenience, and each yurt comes with electricity. We recommend that you bring your own bedroll, including a pillow, sleeping bag, or sheets and blankets, as well as your own food and personal toiletries. Showers and washrooms are located just a short walk away, and we'll supply everything else you need to enjoy your stay.
