City of Morden Councillor Florian Lassnig Resigns due to Personal Reasons

Florian Lassnig

MORDEN, [September 14, 2023] - It is with regret that the City of Morden announces the resignation of Councillor Florian Lassnig from his position on the City Council. Councillor Lassnig has made the difficult decision to step down from his role due to personal (family) reasons, which will require his relocation beyond the city limits.

For this reason, it is impossible for Councillor Lassnig to fulfil his duties and responsibilities in the same capacity from a distance. Recognizing the need for a councillor's presence within the community, he has chosen to relinquish his position.

Councillor Lassnig has demonstrated immense dedication to his role as councillor, consistently striving to bring vital and progressive initiatives to the small community of Morden. His objective and challenge were to improve the quality of life for all residents, allocating his time and energy towards making a lasting impact.

The City of Morden, council and staff extend its sincere gratitude to Councillor Lassnig for his outstanding service and invaluable contributions during his tenure. While his departure leaves a void, the City wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

Pending confirmation of details, the City will initiate a by-election process to fill the vacancy created by Councillor Lassnig's resignation. The City will provide additional information regarding the by-election in due course.
