The City of Morden would like to announce the installation of new traffic safety measures to enhance pedestrian safety and traffic flow in our community.
Today, a new 3 Way Stop has been installed at the intersection of 19th Street and Gilmour Street. This new traffic control measure aims to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing the overall flow of traffic at this junction.
In addition to the 3 Way Stop, new crosswalk signs have been installed on Parkhill west of Cairo Bay and on Gilmour Street near Lions Park. These signs are strategically placed to alert drivers of the pedestrian walkway that connects to Northwood Street, making it safer for community members, especially children and seniors, to cross these streets. This initiative will also significantly benefit students of the new school, École Discovery Trails, which is currently under construction near this location.
We encourage all residents and visitors to stay attentive to these new traffic signals and signs and to continue practicing safe driving and walking habits.
