IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:
Please note that the work on 9th Street South has been postponed and will begin on August 4, 2020. Residents nearby should receive a notice about the update.
The City of Morden will be reconstructing 9th Street S from South Railway St to Grant St.
Works are scheduled to begin on August 4, 2020
and tentatively finished by the end of August 31, 2020.
UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances paving has been delayed, will be tentatively completed by September 3rd (weather dependent).
Access
Access to 9th St South from S Railway St, Grant St and Jefferson St will be restricted for any traffic. Residents of the Appleton Apartments and the Lexington condos will have a temporary access from S Railway St through 324 S Railway St (See the attached map). Residents of 220 & 230 9th St S apartment buildings as well as other 9th St S residents will have a temporary access maintained from Cochlan Dr (See the attached map). Please contact the City of Morden at 204-822-4434 if there are any issues with the access road.
Parking
Absolutely no on street parking will be allowed on 9th St South from S Railway St to Jefferson St for the duration of construction. Any vehicles parked within the construction zone at any time during the construction period will be towed. Please use one of the proposed parking areas (See the attached map) and walk on sidewalk/boulevard to your residence.
Garbage collection
The City's noise by-law limits construction work hours to between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sundays; we do not expect to be working outside of these hours.
