Community Garden Registration is Open!

Morden Community Services and Events will be handling community garden registrations this year with the continued support of the Parks & Urban Forestry department to prepare the plots.

There are two community garden locations, one on 19th Street by Co-op Grocery Store and the other on Grant Street. Plots this year will be 300 square feet and cost $25 each. Previous gardeners have the first chance to get a plot and then registration will be open to the public.

Registrations will be handled by phone out of the Access Event Centre (204-822-5431) and online (mymorden.ca/gardens). In person registration will not be possible this year due to building closures in response to COVID-19.

β€œWe are anticipating a strong interest in gardening and hope we can fill the plots so that lots of healthy food can be grown, enjoyed and preserved.” said Clare Agnew, Community Services and Events Manager.

Precautions will be taken around COVID-19. Physical distancing, handwashing and staying home when ill are the top guidelines for gardeners in this regard.
