MORDEN, MB - The Morden Spray Park is set to finally reopen this Friday, 23, 2023 at 10:00 am, after a couple of years of closure. The park will feature a new Water Recirculation System that reduces the amount of water to operate and protects Lake Minnewasta.
The new system recirculates the water through a filtration process that removes debris and bacteria, making it safe for continuous use. It will greatly reduce the consumption of water usage required in operating the spray park, while at the same time lessening the runoff into the wastewater system which contributes to depleting the city’s available lagoon space.
"We're excited to reopen the Morden Spray Park with this new system in place," said Mayor Brandon Burley. "It's a great way for families to cool off during the summer while also being environmentally responsible."
The City of Morden would like to acknowledge the generous donations that made the new recirculation system a reality. These donors include Morden Thrift Store, Enbridge Pipelines, Scott Beattie Accounting, and funding from the Government of Manitoba. The Spray Park was originally sponsored by Decor Cabinets, and we are grateful for their support.
Admission to the park is free, and it will be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. daily.
The Morden Spray Park has been a popular destination for families in the community for years, and the new Water Recirculation System ensures that it will continue to be for years to come.
